Why did i start this blog?
Since a kid, i've always had a passion for animals, whether it's goldfish or elephants. I'd never harm animals, not even pests, partly because i'm Buddhist but also because i think no matter how troublesome something can be, it still deserves to live. A cockroach running around your house sure can be annoying, but all it's trying to do is to get some food to survive, but of course, i don't have such problems in my house so it's easy to say.
When i finally turned 14, i was allowed to join my local rescue to help out. Hong Kong Dog Rescue has 2 places. One at Pok Fu Lam (now at Tai Po) and another at Ap Lei Chau. I volunteer at the Pok Fu Lam one (now at the Tai Po one) which contains all the big dogs. I figured that helping out with the bigger dogs would be more useful as puppies are easier for people to maintain. As the big dogs are muscular and strong, a 14 year old (now 16) requirement was needed. I managed to persuade the local rescue to let me join when i was 13. I have never regretted my decision as i not only have the most fun with the dogs, i'm extremely happy when i clean out their cages or feed them snacks. When the dogs are happy, so am i.
I have a dog myself and he is the sweetest non-dog like human EVER!
